Banyan Health Systems
Silvia Castellanos is the Director of External Affairs for the Banyan Community Health Center. As the first person in this role for the organization she assists in developing Banyan’s, federal, state and local strategy to advance the organization’s goals. She also provides support for various grants and manages special projects. Before joining Banyan, Silvia served as the South Florida Regional Representative for the Office of Governor Ron DeSantis. In that role she served as a liaison between Tallahassee and local governments, as well as community organizations, in Broward, Miami- Dade, Monroe and Palm Beach County. She also managed logistics for Governor DeSantis’ press conferences and events in the South Florida region. Prior to working for the Office of the Governor, she was a Senior Aide for the Chairman of the Ways & Means Committee of the Florida House of Representatives. During her time working in the legislature, she worked on policy issues ranging from business regulation to transportation issues.
Silvia has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a Certificate in Middle Eastern Studies from Florida International University and a Master of Public Administration from Florida State University.
