Jay Shehadeh serves as the Executive Vice-President and General Counsel of U.S. Century Bank located in Miami Dade County, Florida and a partner at Shehadeh Giannamore, PLLC. At the outset of his legal career, Jay started out as an Assistant State Attorney in the Tenth Judicial Circuit of Florida. Following his time as a prosecutor, Jay opened up his own practice, The Law Offices of Jay Shehadeh, P.A., the predecessor to the current existing legal partnership, Shehadeh Giannamore, PLLC.
In addition to career focused activities, Jay dedicates time to non-work related philanthropic activities. He is a member of the Coalition of South Florida Muslim Organizations (COSMOS), closely involved in the Muslim World Studies program at Florida International University, recently ended years as a member of the Muslim Jewish Advisory Council, and works on initiatives that further peace in the Palestine-Israel region.
Though Jay was born in the United States, his parents moved him (and his seven siblings) to Palestine in 1994. Jay grew up in Palestine from the age of 8 until he was 16. From there, his family moved to the United Arab Emirates, before Jay moved back to the United States for College. Jay graduated from Florida Atlantic University in 2006 with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, from Florida International University in 2009 with a Law Degree and from Florida International University in 2017 with a Master’s of Law in Banking Regulations. Jay currently lives in Coral Gables, FL with his wife, Katherine Shehadeh, and his two sons, Amir and Nasir.
