Dania is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of leadership, community outreach, event management and board relations experience. As Associate Vice President of Community Relations, Protocol & Special Events, Dania is responsible for the development, implementation and management of the strategies to further advance the community relations efforts of Florida International University.

Dania leads FIU's community involvement and participation in community activities. This includes overseeing all community awards and nominations, managing the President's Council 120 members, which serve as a vital community advocacy and revenue generating board for FIU, and leading the coordination of all major university events including commencement.

In addition, in 2013, she passed her protocol certification at the Protocol School of Washington and went to second level protocol training and consultant certification in 2016. At FIU, she has created and implemented protocol and etiquette workshops through which she has trained key event managers.

Dania first came to FIU in June of 2007 as the Director of Annual Giving. Since then Dania has moved through the ranks, being named Senior Director of Annual Giving and Donor Relations and Senior Director of Alumni Relations, before being promoted to her current position.

Dania’s previous positions include Chief Development Officer for SOS Children’s Villages of Florida (July 2006-June 2007); Director of Development, Annual Fund at UM/Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center (April 2003-July 2006); Annual and Alumni gifts Director, Broward Community College Foundation (September 2000-April 2003); Direct Marketing Manager-Development Associate, Kids in Distress (July 1997-September 2000); Marketing Associate, Power Images (December 1996-July 1997); Development Specialist, American Cancer Society (September 1994-December 1996) and Sales Coordinator/Assistant Supervisor; The Miami Herald Publishing Company (July 1990-September 1994).  She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University in June of 1994 and her Master's of Arts in Liberal Studies from University of Miami in May of 2006.
