Ms. Bravo has held many leadership positions throughout her career in Miami that have helped dramatically improve our transportation system government services. As a Director at the Florida Department of Transportation, she developed and secured funding for the 95 Express Project - the first express (managed lanes) in Florida. The success of this project, that included an Express bus service, led to the implementation of express lanes throughout Florida. She also led the development and secured funding for the Port of Miami Tunnel - arguably the most complex transportation project ever built in the State of Florida. Additionally, she led the development of the I-395 Signature Bridge Project, the 18 Mile Stretch reconstruction of US 1 between Florida City and the Florida Keys and numerous Palmetto Expressway Interchange Projects (with SR 836 and SR 874). As Deputy City Manager of the City of Miami, she oversaw 6 City Departments, streamlined numerous permitting processes and implemented numerous City projects including the development and implementation of the City's Trolley System. As Director of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) for Miami-Dade County, she developed the Strategic Miami Area Rapid Transit (SMART) Plan and developed and secured funding for the South Corridor Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project currently under construction along 20 miles of US 1 in South Miami-Dade - securing the County's first Federal Transit Agency Corridor grant in over 25 years. She also spear-headed programs for autonomous vehicle circulators, EVTOL technology, replaced the County's Metrorail fleet, replaced most of the County's bus fleet, developed a program for SMART traffic signals, modernized the county's fare collection system and apps, and implemented numerous other transportation improvements. She now has her own engineering consulting firm, Alice Bravo & Associates, LLC
She has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Miami and an MBA from FIU.
